My Journey..

Having grown up in, and returning to Devon, I have always been inspired by nature and beautiful destinations; forever on the hunt for unusual and exciting places across the south west and beyond - not just the super luxury, but also the more quirky, considered places that are curiously different, or delightfully simple - above all, just not normal. My favourite finds are always those that inject a little personality into what they offer, whether it’s with storytelling through the food and interiors or the history of the property itself. Those with a highly curated approach and most of all, properties that offer something different – whether it’s a modernist beach house, a centuries-old cottage, an unconventional conversion or a hidden bolthole off the beaten track, just waiting to be discovered.

My desire to uncover and share these fascinating places, fused with a diverse path that has seen me work over a cross-section of the media - travelling to beautiful landmarks and meeting many interesting people along the way – has been influential in creating this platform to document my journey as a travel writer; celebrating the best of what we have on our doorstep in the UK.

I hope to bring valued experience to my pages, creating content that is informative, as well as inspiring.

My posts see the marriage of my origins in the countryside with a little far-flung luxury, synonymous with city life, bridging the gap between rural and urban, and in doing so, hopefully finding the balance we strive for in our busy lives.
